CEO Letter April 2026

CEO Letter April 2026

Dear Friends,

Thank you once again for all that you do for my country Ghana. We truly appreciate you” – a grants co-ordinator for the Ghanaian District Assemblies Common Fund.

You have my full blessing” – the Ghanaian Minister of Education.

These are just two of the many positive and heart felt comments made by government officials from the five different government departments with whom we met this past week.

You prayed, and God, in His infinite wisdom and goodness, answered.

I am sitting at the desk in my hotel room in Accra waiting for my flight back to New Zealand (unfortunately delayed by a couple of days). As I sit here, I am reflecting on this last week and how magnificent God is.

Unfortunately, I can’t, at this stage, tell you exactly the concessions we are receiving from the Ghanaian government because they are not yet set in stone. But when they are all signed and sealed, I will have great pleasure in telling you all about them. Suffice to say the savings to us will be significant.

Sharing Jesus
Giving Hope
Transforming Communities

As I was writing this, an email came in from a South African missiologist, pastor, and Dr. whom I know quite well. This is some of what he said:

I am SO thrilled with this news and am continually amazed by the Poles project. I truly believe that this is one of the most amazing ways of bringing light in every way to remote villages. I am stunned by it and am so glad that we are moving into the more Muslim parts of Ghana. This is really the way to go across what we call the buffer zone of Africa (the Christian South vs the Muslim North). It is so, so much easier than getting a radio licence and so much more effective because everybody hears it, whether they want to or not! It is also amazingly cost-effective compared to the cost of a radio station set-up. Your innovation and wisdom and perseverance are bearing much fruit and will be bringing salvation to so many more.”

I want to thank you. It is because you have prayed and given that all this has come to fruition. Everywhere I look I see God’s fingerprints, and I cannot help but marvel at how God is working.

Beyond Words   Beyond Borders

Beyond ourselves

This morning, Palm Sunday, I attended a Ghanaian church at the invitation of the man I met on the plane — the very person who set all this in motion. The pastor spoke on the meaning of “Hosanna”,  “God save us”. One of the points he made was that Jesus is the only one who can deliver us from the power of sin and Satan. Hallelujah! And that is why we do what we do. Everyone deserves the chance to hear and then to grow in faith.

These stories need to be told. So many Christians in New Zealand would be encouraged to hear that God is doing an amazing work in Ghana. I would love to come and visit your church or home group to update you on what is happening and share the stories of lives being changed.

Thank you for supporting us. Please pray with us that Reach Beyond will always stay true to our mission of “Sharing Jesus, Giving Hope and Transforming Communities.”
