What exciting times we live in! God is truly at work.
During a recent trip to Ghana, Bob and I had the privilege of updating some of our mission poles and speaking with village chiefs. They expressed heartfelt gratitude for the poles, which are transforming their communities. In fact, chiefs from neighbouring villages are now asking how they can access these poles too. Praise God!
I was really encouraged by a recent opportunity to speak at a church in Havelock North and seeing how people were inspired by what God is doing through Reach Beyond around the world. I caught a glimpse of their faith rising, as they heard of lives changed. I’m sure that your homegroup, missions team or church would be powerfully impacted by these testimonies.
I’d like to update you on significant developments with our partner radio broadcaster, TWR (Trans World Radio).
Firstly, we’re thrilled that Andy Schick, a Reach Beyond New Zealand board member, has been appointed as TWR’s President, starting 1 August. Please pray for Andy as he steps into this significant role. With TWR’s blessing, Andy will continue serving on our board, and we’re blessed to have such high-calibre individuals supporting our mission.
Secondly, TWR is closing its Guam shortwave broadcast facility after nearly 50 years of operation. They’ve asked Reach Beyond Australia to take over some of their Asia broadcasts from the Kununurra facility in northwest Australia. This may require minor adjustments to the transmission antennas. Please pray for Dale and his team in Kununurra as they manage these changes.
Additionally, one of the most impactful women’s programmes on our mission poles, Women of Hope, is produced by TWR. This programme continues to resonate deeply with listeners, further strengthening our partnership.
These examples highlight the powerful collaboration between Reach Beyond and TWR, two significant Christian media ministries united in sharing the life-giving message of Jesus. This reflects our core value of Empowered Partnerships, which I mentioned alongside our other values—Bold Faith, Life-giving Community, and Strategic Innovation—in my last letter.
I’m incredibly excited about what’s happening in New Zealand and globally through Reach Beyond’s mission of ‘Sharing Jesus, Giving Hope, and Transforming Communities’. Your support through prayer, finances, and encouragement makes this possible, and I’m deeply grateful.
Please remember, I have some great video footage of our time in the villages in Ghana that I would love to show to your church or home group. It is such a privilege to tell the stories of lives changed and of all the other wonderful things happening here in New Zealand and around the world.
I am not sure who needs to hear this today, but God has placed on my heart to say this: God loves you passionately, and that never changes.
