CEO Letter July 2026

CEO Letter July 2026

Dear friends,

God is so good. This month, Mt Wellington Community Church celebrates its 30th anniversary. On Sunday 5 July we acknowledge God’s amazing provision. In His goodness, we have grown from a very small congregation to a thriving faith community that truly is a light on a hill in our community.

When I look around and see the vast range of nationalities (17 at last count), political affiliations (or not), educational outcomes, vocations, ages and other things that normally divide people, I get a small glimpse of what heaven will be like — and it is going to be fantastic!

Isn’t it amazing? A disparate group of people, united in worship of the One true God in spirit and in truth, and serving as the voice and hands of Jesus to bring light and life to our community. It makes your heart sing.

Sharing Jesus
Giving Hope
Transforming Communities

As I prepare for the 30th celebration, I am so very aware that it is God who has given the increase. It is He who led and guided us by the power of His Holy Spirit. I don’t have enough time (or paper) to list all the miracles that have happened over the last 30 years. All I can say is that I am full of gratitude to our faithful Father.

I hope you don’t mind, but I want to take a moment to honour the elders and congregation at MWCC. Without their gracious and sacrificial giving, I could not do what I do. They pay me to serve with Reach Beyond, which shows their commitment to global mission alongside the church’s commitment to local mission.

Last month I had the opportunity to speak at some other churches. After seeing their reactions to hearing of the miracles and the impact the poles are having in the villages, I am really energised to get out and tell this great story more and more.

If you have a life group that you would like me to come and talk to, then please get in touch. And of course, if there is an opportunity to share with your church family, I would love that very much.

Recently someone said to me that the mission pole work reminds them of the time when HCJB was broadcasting out of Ecuador — not only developing new technologies, but also proclaiming the Gospel to those who have never heard of the Saviour who loves them and gave Himself for them and I have to agree with them. This is rubber meets the road stuff!

Beyond Words   Beyond Borders

Beyond ourselves

Please pray for the container to safely arrive in the Port of Tema in Ghana. Also, please continue to pray for the funds for the box truck that will enable us to get the poles to the Northern villages. We are a third of the way there, and thank you to those who have given.

I am so thankful for the people all over NZ that pray, support and give to the work of Reach Beyond. You are all really important to me.

Thank you again for your partnership in the Gospel. Please feel free to reply or contact me directly if you would like any further details.

Praise the Lord, all the earth!
