This letter comes to you with the 2nd edition of our Voice & Hands magazine. David and I, especially David, have been working hard to get it out to you. We are really proud of it and I know you will be inspired as you read of the wonderful work that RB is doing worldwide and the impact of the Gospel that changes lives.
I am very blessed. In my role at Reach Beyond I am constantly encouraged by the profound impact the New Zealand office is having on evangelism and discipleship globally. For a very small country office we contribute significantly to the global reach and our products and services are ground-breaking in their innovation.
I want to share with you another problem that has been solved by our absolutely amazing technical manager, Bob.
Some of the stations we support around the world and especially those in rural areas have a real issue getting the audio signal from the studio to the remote transmitter and broadcast tower in a cost-effective way.
To provide a solution for this problem, Bob has developed anew device called an STR. Based on the SheepStation technology, the STR receives the audio, via the internet, from the studio and sends it directly to the transmitter. Built into the STR is the ability to provide failover programming and content for when the station is down.
The first two of these devices have been installed in a partner's station in SE Asia (a restricted access country that we can’t name –sorry).

Once these two installations confirm the concept works, these NZ-developed STRs can be utilised around the world.
