Greetings! I am on cloud nine at the moment. My first grandchild, a beautiful little girl called Lucia, was born on 18 August. I got back from Ghana a week after she was born and was able to see her the next day. How precious it was to hold her. The miracle of birth still awes me. I cannot help but think of Psalm 139, especially those beautiful words in verses 13 and 14:
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
If you haven’t read it lately, take a moment to read the whole Psalm. It is so encouraging. It centres us on the sovereignty of God and His intimate knowledge of us all.
God is definitely worthy of our praise!

Speaking of praise, just this week I received a testimony from Jonas Santos, RBAU Media Manager. Here’s what he said:
“This weekend, Pastor A* (name withheld for security) visited a couple of areas just outside Yangon and distributed the comics to both Christians and non-Christians. As I mentioned earlier, this is a preliminary step, a ‘testing the waters’ phase. The major distribution is planned for late October in the heart of the Matu communities, in the remote, hilly regions of central Myanmar. We are currently working on the field trip details, and your prayers would be greatly appreciated.”
Here is a brief note from Pastor A:
“Those who have received the comic book have told us how happy they are to be able to read Bible stories in their own language. Some said, ‘I had heard these stories before, but when I read them again with the pictures, I understood the Bible better.’ They also said that seeing the stories illustrated made them feel more real and easier to understand. I will write back and send you more details after I return from my hometown.”
Myanmar is a very closed country to the Gospel, which makes this all the more exciting.

God is good, all the time. I hope you are as encouraged as I am as I write this letter. God is doing something great, and how wonderful it is that we can share in and serve His Kingdom. Thank you for your prayer and financial partnership with us.
I am very keen to come and tell of the amazing work Reach Beyond NZ is doing around the world, to the glory of God and for the advancement of His Kingdom. Please feel free to contact me directly if you would like me to visit, or if you would like any further details.
